Bailey Lalonde (b. 1993) is a Canadian born, Costa Rica raised self-taught multidisciplinary artist and curator. Over the past decade, she has been creating works of art, curating and producing solo and group shows, mostly benefitting a range of philanthropic causes and initiatives. Her collector base spans across North and Central America, the UK, the USA and the Middle East. Starting out as a tool for self healing, throughout the decade, Bailey's art has become her primary career. Starting with exhibiting a series of 7 small drawings on paper in a London exhibition in 2019, Bailey has now created a catalog of over 150 works of art; painting, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture, performance and film. After dropping out of university, Bailey opened a gallery in Le Marais, Paris with a group of creatives where she learned the art of curating and producing exhibitions. Since then, she has worked with art industry greats like Anthony Haden-Guest and curated works by Keith Haring and Mambu Bayoh, among hundreds of artists ranging from emergent to iconic.Playing with themes of body awareness, sovereignty, sensuality, resilience, identity and deconstruction in her art, Bailey most frequently uses the medium of paint, followed by performance art. Portraying figures, portraits, concepts and abstract scenes, her fascination with the human experience is intrinsic. The people she meets are a key focal point of her existence. In the journey of her work, she has ranged from Minimalism to Abstraction; Impressionism to Cubism."I have a deep curiosity and admiration for humans. I love to understand people; what inspires us, how we move, how we relate, our dreams, legacy and capabilities; what makes us laugh and cry, fearful and joyful." - Bailey Lalonde Currently expanding through the exploration and refinement of mediums, texture, colour and conceptualisation; she is leaning into diversification of subject matter. Art has a way of healing the creator and the viewer. For Bailey, art has been her longest and most consistent healer."I  have seen the therapeutic powers of creative expression work wonders through generations of my family. My mother and I are currently co-creating a collaborative series, FEMININITÁ, which we have exhibited twice (2021, 2023). At nearly 30 years old, I already feel like I’ve lived 30 lives. My art is a golden thread which unites and communicates intricacies of each of those stories."  - Bailey LalondeDelving into the corners of her psyche through intuitive, unbridled expressive movements, Bailey's process results in portrayal of the many facets of the human condition. The colour usage in her works alludes to the curation of pigments which constitute each unique skin tone, hair, eye colour and energetic frequency - honouring our differences and highlighting our essential similarities. Deeply moved by the cultures and peoples of this world, Bailey celebrates and pays tribute to the wisdom, beauty and soulful contributions each of us make to the individual and collective experience on Earth. Through imagery, community and philanthropy, Bailey's aim with her art is to unite and uplift humanity with love and connection. She is currently creating her latest series EMBRACE, planting seeds of intimacy and connection as well as the ongoing series CHAMPIONS, honouring the legends of the sport of boxing, in support of retired fighters facing brain damage and wealth issues post career, through the nonprofit project Taking Kare of Our Own (tkoo.org)."Art has a profound purpose on this Earth. We all have creativity inside of our souls - to live is to be, to be is to express. I seek to catalyse awareness, ethical innovation and homeostasis through unbridled artistic expression." - Bailey Lalonde
